The TSA has issued directives to the air carriers regarding certain restrictions placed on individual pieces of freight that are 68Kg/150LBS and over and are large enough to hold a human being. These restrictions are given to the carriers in a manner that is considered SSI (Sensitive Security Information). The carriers cannot give us the specific details, and to date the TSA themselves has not given any additional guidance to the forwarding community.
Effective immediately any freight tendered to Genesis Forwarding Services that fits the above description, must be held together on all 4 sides with metal or unbreakable plastic bands. If the freight is not received ready for carriage as described, we will be restricted in how we can move your shipment.
If your cargo must be handled in a manner whereby banding is required Genesis Forwarding Services will do so but this could cause delays or additional charges.

Genesis Forwarding Services is temporarily suspending the requirement to verify and record the Identity of the individual tendering freight. Please note that this should not be considered a permanent change and we reserve the right to refine and better define the process in the future after receiving clarification on this requirement from the TSA.

Europe’s emphatic victory in the 2006 Ryder Cup brought some extra joy to some Genesis Forwarding Services employees around the world. The outcome of a £10,000 prize was in the balance in a competition where staff were asked to predict the results of several sporting events.
Alison Cavanagh, credit controller at the International freight forwarder, predicted more correct results than any of her colleagues in the UK. Her victory in the competition was only assured after the last event; the Ryder Cup. Alison was understandably overjoyed, “It was a very exciting finish and obviously I’m absolutely delighted with the result”. There were also substantial cash prizes for the winners in the USA and Asia. Brian Johnson, the manager of the company's New York office won the US competiition. Magic Lai, airport customs supervisor based in Taipei was victorious in the competition for staff based in Asia.

Genesis Forwarding Services has appointed Bob O’Neill to the newly formed post of Director of Business Development.

International freight forwarder and logistics company Genesis Forwarding Services helped to arrange the annual Emmerdale Extravaganza on the 3rd of June. The event which took place at Inchmarlo Golf club, raised funds for the charity UCAN which specialises in spreading awareness of Urological Cancer. This year’s festivities raised a staggering £250,000 for the charity.
Genesis Forwarding Services, who have a branch near Dyce, provide an expert service for companies looking to transfer freight overseas. Doug Currie, CEO of Genesis was delighted to be play a part. “We were keen to offer our support to this cause.” However, Currie was keen to emphasize the reason the event was occurring. “It’s important to spread awareness of Urological Cancer as it has a relatively low profile yet it affects so many people.”

Stars from the ITV soap Emmerdale were also on hand to participate in many of the day’s events as well as enjoying the Dinner Dance that occurred in the evening. This included Shadrach Dingle (played by actor Andy Devine) who raised funds for the UCAN charity by having his legs waxed in front of a packed audience.

One of the event’s chief organizers, George Walker, was delighted with the way the day went. “We are so pleased with the amount of money raised. One lucky punter could walk away with £14,000 from the final Genesis Brighton Bears game of the season at the Brighton Centre. The prize has accumulated over the weeks of the season as contestants in the Genesis Big Cash Basket have tried in vane to score from the half way line.
The final chance for someone to win the prize this season will be on Friday the 31st of March 2006, with the game getting underway at 7 pm. Contestants can enter the draw by tearing off the slip from the back of the match programme and sliding it into the box located on the Genesis stand in the corner of the Arena.

Following the successful entry by the Genesis Group into the Republic of China in May 2001, the Group has increased its commitment to the region with the expansion of its operations and the opening of a wholly owned facility in Shanghai, which will be managed locally by Mr Curtis Liu.
Reinforcing the strategic importance of the opening, Doug Currie, Genesis Group Chief Executive, said "With the accession of China to the World Trade Organisation (WTO) and the subsequent broadening of international trade relationships, new export and import markets are being established.
