UK Airports at Stand Still due to Volcanic Eruption

The Icelandic volcano, Eyjafjallajökull, erupted yesterday for a second time this year, causing smoke and ash to head towards UK airspace which has resulted in disruptions to aircrafts flying to and from UK airports. The Air Traffic Control Service has ordered the suspension of all flights between 12pm and 6pm due to fears that the ash may damage jet engines. Airports across Scandinavia and Western parts of Russia have also been affected with warnings that the cloud is set to spread to other parts of Northern Europe.
