Shanghai Exposition - Disruptions Expected

19/04/2010
1st May 2010 through to 31st October 2010 will see cultures gather in Shanghai for the World Exposition, attendees will explore Urban Life, as it is, in the 21st Century.

Due to the length of the exposition, 184 days in total, transportation will be disturbed. Both imports and exports for air and ocean will be influenced. D.G Cargo (dangerous cargo) is unable to be shipped during this time and there will be strict security and customs inspection. It is anticipated that there will be long queuing traffic in and out of Shanghai and shipments are almost certain to be delayed. There will also be security checkpoints set up throughout highways and provincial roads which will perform random checks on all vehicles.

Many of the factories who are located in the Zhejiang Province who primarily shipped from Shanghai have now changed to ship from Ningbo Port due to disruptions. However, Ningbo will still need to overcome spacing issues.

Genesis Forwarding Services will continue to keep our customers up to date. Should you have any questions please contact your local office.
